Brother Joel Giallanza, CSC was named Interim Executive Director following the election of Brother Thomas A. Dziekan as Provincial of the Moreau Province. Brother Joel was named Associate Director of the Holy Cross Institute in July 2012. He has served in administration and formation on various levels for the Congregation of Holy Cross.  He has served as a retreat master, spiritual director and parish director of religious education and has directed retreats on spirituality, religious life, and a variety of topics across the United States and around the world. In the Diocese of Austin, Brother Joel founded the diocesan Institute for Spiritual Direction in 2002, was named the associate vicar for religious in 2003 and became the vicar for religious in 2004.He continues to be involved in conducting retreats and workshops for the schools associated with the Holy Cross Institute, and for religious and other groups.  He is a specialist in the writings and spirituality of Blessed Basil Moreau, and of the family of Holy Cross.

Comprising lay and religious, male and female, this leadership team embodies the collaborative spirit that has imbued our educators from the beginning. Drawn from Holy Cross schools, colleges and universities, the governors represent the Institute's Charter Sponsors: the Midwest and the Moreau Province (formerly the South-West Province and Eastern Province of Brothers) and St. Edward’s University:

Board Member Profile – Daniel Curtin

From being the first lay principal of a Holy Cross school in the 1980s, to being honored with the Benemerenti Medal from Pope Benedict XVI in 2011, Daniel Curtin has a long history in Holy Cross and Catholic education.  Today he continues his service by being an adjunct instructor at two Catholic universities, serving on two Holy Cross secondary school boards as well as two higher-education advisory committees, and is a Consultant for Catholic Education for the Diocese of Arlington, Virginia.
