Convocation Keynote Addresses

Speaker: Dr. Timothy J. Cook, author of the book Charism and Culture: Cultivating Catholic Identity in Catholic Schools (published by NCEA), is a Professor of Education at Creighton University, where he teaches a broad range of undergraduate and graduate courses in secondary school teaching methods, foundations of Catholic education, and school leadership. He has extensive personal and professional experience with Catholic schools as a student, social studies teacher, principal, and school board member. He has also served as the chief administrator of a Catholic junior-senior high school in Rhode Island. Dr. Cook's research interests include Catholic school charism, religion teacher preparation, and mission-centered faith school leadership.  He is the author of a previous NCEA publication, Architects of Catholic Culture: Designing and Building Catholic Culture in Catholic Schools. Since the book's publication Dr. Cook has become recognized as an expert on Catholic school identity and culture issues stateside and abroad. Dr. Cook earned his Ph.D. in Curriculum, Instruction and Administration at Boston College.

Moment of Grace: Preparing for the Canonization of Brother Andre

In this booklet Fr. Barrosse provides an overview of Saint Brother Andre's life, explains the meaning of beatification, and offers some thoughts on what Brother Andre's life and ministry mean for us today. Included are questions for reflection and discussion, photos, and an excerpt from the homily of Pope John Paul II on the occasion of Brother Andre's Beatification (May 23, 1982).
